The AI Governance Practice Centre (AIGPC) is a new initiative proposed for formal establishment since 2025, representing the strategic evolution and international expansion of the existing AI Governance Center (AIGC),
which was established in 2021 under the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA).

Promoting Context-Sensitive Governance: Support ASEAN and other developing Member States in designing AI governance frameworks that reflect local socio-economic and cultural contexts while upholding global ethical standards.

Structure
The AIGPC operates under a dual-board governance structure consisting of a Supervisory Board and a Governing Board, ensuring transparency, accountability, and strategic oversight. The Centre is led by a Director, who is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the Centre’s mandate and activities in alignment with its four key functional areas
